Grief to Joy: Solo Exhibition
In the tapestry of life, creativity is our lifeline, woven into survival. Spanning three generations, Sophia Trinh’s story reflects resilience, heritage, and the power of creativity. From her nurse grandmother’s preservation of culture through stitching áo dài to her mother’s use of natural dyes as a Saigon boat person turned textile art teacher, and Sophia’s navigation of generational trauma through painting. Welcome to a world where creativity thrives; from suffering, they emerge into the radiant embrace of joy.
We invite you to enjoy this exhibit through the end of February 2024.

Creative Happy Hour with Sophia Trinh
Join me for a happy hour curated by myself and my good friend psychologist Suzan Ahmed, centered around how art can help reduce stress and also increase productivity. Bring your questions, as this will be more conversation focused, rather than lecture focused. Register here.
through Eventbrite, and we will follow up with a registration link.
Suzan Ahmed, Ph.D., CIHC, is a licensed psychologist and certified international health & wellness coach based in WA. She is deeply passionate about ways to increase individual and collective consciousness and has found that mindfulness and creativity are essential to this process. She is excited to collaborate with Sophia and support awareness around mental health and the arts!
Sophia Trinh is an American Vietnamese watercolor artist from Seattle, Washington. She started painting at the age of four while attending Seattle Waldorf School. In kindergarten, Sophia was introduced to the primary colors through wet-on-wet painting which focuses on the experience of colors rather than form. It was through these early experiences of painting that Sophia developed a love for watercolors.
*Note: Although Suzan Ahmed, Ph.D., is a licensed psychotherapist, this is an educational discussion on art and psychology, and not a form of group or art therapy. She is happy to provide resources for therapeutic services throughout Seattle if any student is interested.
Presenting on Creativity and Confidence at the 2020 Artists of Color Expo & Symposium
This year I am proud to be a presentor at ACES, a people of color led, community-curated program with performances, exhibits, presentations, workshops, listening opportunities, and open forums.
"Our vision is to establish a space for us to celebrate and center ourselves. We are coming together with intentionality to value our work and to see each other as resources, while focusing on the challenges and solutions we face as artists of color in the Pacific Northwest.
We acknowledge that the creative community in the Pacific Northwest is teeming with talent and resources— especially in communities of color where crisis breeds innovation."
